Last October we rescued our third terrier from a dangerous and ultimately sad start to life. From her first day with us she has fully embraced her new life emerging as a Complete princess, almost bordering on diva status. We are so lucky to have found her, and she repays us with the most loving gentle and trustworthy temperament you could ask for in a dog. However, over her time with us we now jump Over puddles, sleep Under the duvet, have our own collection of soft toys that Hamleys would be proud of, and we also should have shares in Kong. The one thing madame has missing from her wardrobe, is a seriously good waterproof coat, that isn't going to leak/rub/etc. Would love your recommendations. We spend lots of time on coastal paths so the tougher the better, and no it doesn't need to be pink or embellished. She is 40cm. Ta

I have a cairn terrier and live by the sea.He has a small wardrobe of Equafleeces.!The tankie for chilly weather or light rain and the body suits with the neck and legs for winter.I have a couple each of the fleeces so when one is drying he has a fresh one to wear. They are the best I find for comfort and flexibility, the dog can run around the beach without a coat flapping about. When home it is quick to dry and brush the sand out and thats it.They dont need washed too often if they are shaken and hung up.When its very heavy rain doggy wears a breathable lightweight rainjacket on top of the fleece.

I use various Equafleeces for our Boston. They work best for her as they are flexible and don't restrict her movement at all, she's worn them in some massive storms and they have never let the wet through.

Masta do a nice range of dog coats. All 3 of mine have them, fleece lined, tough waterproof outer and easy to put on and off, not too fiddly.

Even though I'm in Italy ,I order from gillrugs .uk...fantastic value ,completely waterproof and they do lined or unlined.

Mine hate their Equifleeces. We are about to give them to a rescue. They hate their legs having to go through holes, possible hip displacia in labs, but no good. They're good when on, but it's a shame they don't Velcro shut instead.

We use Weatherbeata waterproof rugs (fluro and reflective) for late night walks on wet nights. We bought some Ruff and Tumble towelling rugs from Badminton that have big belly flaps, so they dry as well as Equifleeces without the dog wrestling to get a 6stone lab into something it doesn't like! We use them for drying off wet dogs. Www.roughandtumbledogcoats.com

We are about to adopt a dinky dog, and my friend has some waterproof coats for little dogs that have a flap that goes under the belly to keep that dry too, so I'm on the hunt for one of those for the new dog.
