Hello, I've never posted in Dogs before but I'm really curious as to what breed this dog is (or maybe it's a cross). I saw it earlier this year in a shop and took a picture of it:
Any ideas? It was very small.

I shall guess -

GSD and Shiba Inu.
The former because of the black saddle and the latter because of the head and expression.

It is definitely a cross with a spitz/husky breed and something else

This is from Wikipedia so not exactly a good source, but

"Shibas may be red, black and tan, or sesame (red with black-tipped hairs), with a cream, buff, or grey undercoat. They may also be cream, though this color is a major fault and should never be intentionally bred, as the required markings known as "urajiro" (裏白?) are not visible. "Urajiro" literally translates to "underside white" are unable to be seen.[2] The urajiro (cream to white ventral color) is required in the following areas on all coat colors: on the sides of the muzzle, on the cheeks, inside the ears, on the underjaw and upper throat inside of legs, on the abdomen, around the vent and the ventral side of the tail. On reds: commonly on the throat, forechest, and chest. On blacks and sesames: commonly as a triangular mark on both sides of the forechest."

My very first encounter with a shiba inu was when a stray was found, she'd been loose for a while, so had resorted to a wild/feral behaviour, she was a red colour with the white facial markings, she was underweight, her tail was held low not over the back and curled at all and she was most definately not approachable, she had an injured front paw. Everyone including me AND the Vet struggled to decide whether she was a dog or an albino variation of fox (she looked very similar to one but didn't smell like one!!!! Yes you may laugh now but at the time she looked and behaved damn close to one!! She had to be caught on a grasper and muzzled to examine!! It was only once she had had pain relief and started to relax around humans again that we (at the vets) decided that she was after all definately a dog and NOT a fox!! The funny thing is, once we discovered the owner it was found that she was a registered client dog from that vets!!!!! They seriously look totally different once conditoned and tail is set!!! But yes to answer your question yes the above dog is a shiba inu!!!
