really looking forward to it. Thing is, when the woman asked 'what do you want to work on?' I had no idea! I was like 'um, ah....' I said I'd like to ride a horse not too advanced, so something Novice/Elementary. But I really have no idea, and when Brian asks I don't want to sound like an idiot

It's harder to know what to work on when you are having a lesson that's not your horse! Or one you normally ride anyway

Any ideas??

I was thinking lateral work??

Well what stage are you up to with your horse?
Do you want to work on lateral work for moving up into Elementary tests or do you want to work more collection/extention so developing your seat more?

Think about about why you had the bad days (so what motivated you to book the lesson) and that should give you an idea of what you want to do.

Good luck - if you enjoy it half as much as Mum, you have a fantastic time!

Developing my seat - defiantly

All over the winter I have been working on getting Frankie more forward and working from behind.....apparently he has a 'novice' outline? Past prelim but novice if that makes sense. Thats what my instructor said anyway

I have been working on more lateral work - he has got leg yield and turn on the forehand down but shoulder in/fore I need help with.........perhaps I should ask him to 'pull me apart' and look at the way i execute my aids??

Over the past year I have really gotten better at riding between leg and hand......sounds easy you might think but I think my past lessons haven't been the best, and more about staying on then anything

there you go, tell him what you've just said above.!

You won't have to say much - just enough to get started and then he'll see what needs to be worked on anyway and the lesson will be over before you know it!
Have had some fab lessons at Talland, hope you enjoy it.
