It's my birthday soon and I would quite like a new wax or a new shooting coat. I am far too fat to fit into anything I used to have.

What is nice these days in the world of country clothing? I am quite busty so any guidelines on particular fit from different brands? I always used to have Barbours but they're kind of a bit 'townie' now so I'm not entirely convinced.

I find some of the ladies Barbours are just too narrow on the arm. Schoffel is nice (nice price too!) Have a look at John Norris, they have a good selection, and it's primarily useful stuff, as opposed to fashion designs.

It depends how much you want to spend lol

I have a lovely shooting jacket made by a finnish company called sasta, it is excellent quality, very warm, very waterproof. I also like harkilla jackets and clothing along with le chameau.

Try a website called bushwear, most of the stuff is menswear but there is some nice stuff for ladies too.

Well, OH would probably chuck a few hundred in to the pot and my mother could always chip in too (although nothing like as much as the OH!) so reasonable budget.

I am such a silly shape though that I end up looking massive in pretty much any coat. I don't want to spend £500 to look like a dumpling. Schoffel make a nice looking Gore-tex coat but I'm pretty sure it's just going to make me look obese. I need to try stuff on really but no idea where to go for that now I've moved house :(

Try the Welligogs wax coat which was designed for shooting. It's a gorgeous flattering shape and the waist can be adjusted with the rather lovely straps on the back. I got one at Burghley 2 years ago and still haven't quite let it become a yard coat, as I love it far too much. It's unusual and very, very flattering and is always admired. Comes in chocolate, black and green.

damn it! I didn't need a new coat but now that I've seen that I want one :o ... it's my birthday in a couple of weeks, hmm ...:D

Ha ha ha go on, do it! I bought mine on impulse (for my husband to give me for my birthday!) and have never regretted it...

I have a Musto Whisper shooting jacket, which I love. Warm, but lightweight, waterproof and extremely well-designed. Was quite expensive but worth every penny.

I have the same problem with the boobs!! Have just bought the sherwood forest Hampton jacket. not too expensive and goes in at the waist to give you a nice shape!
