i have just brought a 12.2hh chestnut new forest X pony called Pennifyn which im not too keen on. i just cant get used to it - im not superstisous (sp) - so im going to change it.. hes only a baby and i havent got any photos, not until he turns up on tuesday! but i need ideas. we want it to me funny because he looks like a cheeky chappy (and he is) so weve got so far:

Pickles
Ginger Tom (Tommy)
Nuget

and they are the only ones we all like. so, ideas please :)
 
Well you could call him in the stable fyn, then technically you won't be puhing the bad luck as it's based on his original name!! As for show names......... as above check out the other thread for ideas.

What colour is he? Is he ginger (re ginger Tom)? If so what about Gingernut?
 
Well we have a foal called Cuddles, who we wanted to re-name, guess what hes called now...yep, you guessed it, hes still called Cuddles, i afraid if they come with a name, unless one just pops into your head straight away, thats what they stay with. Im hopeless with names...& i really really hate the name Cuddles...who on earth would name a pony that??
As to yours i think id shorten what youve got & call it Fyn..or Finn as id say it (as already suggested), which i think is rather nice, means your not changing it either so no bad luck..if you believe in that.
 
cuddles is a brilliant name!!! im loving monkey too. (if only there wasnt already a paddy at the yard because thats an awesome name too) Fyn is nice but it just doesnt suit him.vi cant put my finger on it. hes to much of a little boy to have a big boys name (i knew 2 fyns who where huge) if that makes sence lol. sparky is adorable, i wanted that but my OH banned me from naming him sparky!
 
My chestnut filly stable name is Pip. It was tongue in cheek from Charles Dickins character (in Great Expectations). 'Friend' suggested it was because you find pips in oranges! Nice easy name though.
