I'm in the U.S. I have one of the few Ifor Williams horse trailers here. I need to wire my trailer to work with the wiring on my pickup. Unfortunately, I'm unsure of the terms used on the wiring diagram as some of them are not the same as we use here in the U.S.

Here is what is printed on the inside of my trailer's door in regard to wiring.

1 - Yellow: LH Flasher - Is "Flasher" the same as turn signal?
2 - Blue: Rear Fog - In the U.S. blue wiring is usually for brakes and we don't have rear fog lights. Any ideas of what lights are Rear Fog on the Ifor Williams horse trailers?
3- White: Earth. We call the white wire "ground", so this must be the same.
4- Green: Right hand flasher. Turn signal?
5- Brown Right hand tail/wing light. No question on this one.
6- Red: LH and RH stop lights. I think these are what we call brake lights. They indicate the vehicle is slowing/braking/coming to a stop.
7-Black Left hand tail/wing. No question on this one.
Finally, the bonus question. I actually have 8 wires, the 8th being a pink color. Does anyone know what the pink wire is for?
If someone would be so kind as to confirm my assumptions and give a go at answering my questions, I'd be deeply grateful, and it will help me match the American wiring on my truck.

Hi,
The flasher is the same as turn signal & stop lights are brake lights. AS for the rest I can't answer that however use the below email address & that is the Ifor Williams Care line & they will provide you with a wiring diagram for their trailers:

care@iwt.co.uk

I hope this is of use to you. :)

===== YEAH, FLASHER IS TURN SIGNAL..

2 - Blue: Rear Fog - In the U.S. blue wiring is usually for brakes and we don't have rear fog lights. Any ideas of what lights are Rear Fog on the Ifor Williams horse trailers?
===== DEPENDS, OFTEN THEY ARE SEPERATE HIGH INTENSITY RED UNITS, LOWER TO THE GROUND THAN BOTH THE SIDE AND STOP LIGHTS

3- White: Earth. We call the white wire "ground", so this must be the same.
===== EARTH / GROUND / NEATURAL

4- Green: Right hand flasher. Turn signal?
===== INDEED

5- Brown Right hand tail/wing light. No question on this one.

6- Red: LH and RH stop lights. I think these are what we call brake lights. They indicate the vehicle is slowing/braking/coming to a stop.
===== YEAH CORRECT

7-Black Left hand tail/wing. No question on this one.

Finally, the bonus question. I actually have 8 wires, the 8th being a pink color. Does anyone know what the pink wire is for?

===== DEPENDS ON THE TRAILER, IF YOU GET THE MANUAL FOR THE TRAILER (DOWNLOADABLE) IT WILL TELL YOU. ON MY TRAILER ITS A PERMANENT LIVE, FOR THE INTERIOR LIGHT.

You are right on all your assumptions and the blue wire will probably be taped off at the other end if your trailer doesn't have a fog light. The pink wire will also be taped off at the other end and you can use it for an interior light or a light above the number plate.

Thanks everyone! If the weather is good tomorrow, I'm going to give the wiring another try. I think some of it is going to be trial and error, but your input will help immensely. For example, pink for the interior light wiring had not occurred to me! I'll let you know how it goes.
