Help me write a sharer advert for my mum please?

I have been talking to my mum again about getting a sharer for when I move, I suggested it might be a good idea to get an advert up now so they have a settling in period before I bog off :)
She has asked me to write her a draft advert for her pony but I'm actually starting to struggle a little :/ She is an Arab x Cob 14.2hh.

The problem is that Pippa is not a novice ride at all! She doesn't cope well with unbalanced riders and although she doesn't panic and bomb off or buck/rear/kick etc you can see she does get upset if her rider is a bit wobbly. She is a forward going girl in the school but very well mannered and IMO would do really well at a bit of dressage if someone more competent than me (I only ride her every once in a blue moon for mum and mum doesn't really ride due to lack of confidence) put in the time. She will jump happily but hasn't gone much over 3' with her last sharer (confident and competent teenager).

However out on hacks she just wants to gallop around at top speed and it can be a bit of a challenge in particular to get her to go for a nice gentle canter.
Trot is better as although she will try to rush around she will listen and come back for a nice trot but with canter you get two speeds: starting speed - normal canter OR 5 seconds in speed - FAST canter and she does fight you when you ask her to come back to a more acceptable speed.

The other major sticking point is that she is not confident either going in front (unless she is allowed to go at speed!) or hacking alone :( She does go out solo - I have taken her a few times but she really lacks confidence and needs lots of encouragement as she will occasionally plant. She's not at all spooky and doesn't nap but her lack of confidence means that a half hour hack on my horse could take maybe an hour with her.

She is great to do in hand in every way, you couldn't ask for an easier horse to fiddle about with on the ground but she's a bit of a pain sometimes in that she doesn't catch first time - there is no running off like a wild crazed beast nor does she get aggressive but she will toddle about and make you follow her about for a few minutes before she gives in and stops. This only happens when she knows you want to do something with her even if it just bring her in for a groom, if you just want to give her a treat (as mum does) she'll greet you with every sign of happiness and come straight up to you - ratbag! ;)

Can anyone help me to put this all into an advert in a non-negative way please?
I know there are people out there who would take on the share, her last sharer loved her and was devastated when we moved off the yard and she could no longer continue the share. She has a lot to give and really is a fun ride for all that she is a challenge.

14.2hh Arab x for share. Forward going and does require a well balanced and sympathetic rider with past experience. Current rider does not jump but she has previously jumped 3' happily. She likes to hack in company (and I would put here that there are plenty of friendly riders to ride with - if there is of course), once she had built a relationship with he'd rider she will hack solo.

With a more regular workload & a bit more of a ridden routine, she sounds like she'd be a fun horse for someone confident and sympathetic. Good luck :D

Im poo at adverts and i cant beat NPL thoughts but even from your post i thought that sounds nice. my type of pony. Fun kind and a pony to work with to get a bond and relationship which is important to me. really hope you find the perfect sharer as there will be someone. Lucky them :)
 
By the sounds of it there is a real opportunity here, for the right person, to build a great partnership with this horse, be the primary rider, possibly compete etc. That is a real selling point for some people, especially someone who really wants their own but can't due to time/money etc.

I would big up that side of things, but still be honest about the quirks.
 
I really like what NPL has suggested :)

I'm sure you've thought of this already but on a practical note, don't forget to mention what you're looking for in terms of time and monetary contribution from the sharer, where the yard is and what the facilities are like.
 
Ah thanks guys, I couldn't think of a way to describe her quirks in a way that wouldn't sound completely negative. She really is a great fun little girl :) good point about the competing prospects etc I mentioned it to mum to see what she thought and she said she'd be happy to discuss it with a sharer but they would have to cover the extra insurance and transport costs.

How does this new advert sound?

Pippa prefers to hack in company but once she had built a relationship with her rider she will hack out alone well too.
She is not spooky and has never been known to nap/rear/buck/kick or bite, easy to do in all ways on the ground.
Pippa is a lovely girl and is great fun to ride and be with. She is field kept but there is a reasonably flat area in which to school/jump.
Owner works mondays to wednesdays and would love a sharer who could help out on 2-3 of those days.
No financial contribution would be required from the sharer, the owner just wants someone who is reliable and will love Pippa as much as she does.
Sharer duties would include poo-picking the field, rugging/de-rugging Pippa and her companion according to the weather, grooming and riding Pippa and occasionally helping with field maintenance such as ragwort picking.
The owner would ask that the sharer has riders insurance and although buses can be taken to within a 10min walk of where Pippa is kept having your own transport would be benificial.
There is also the possibility of the sharer taking Pippa on to compete but this would have to be discussed with the owner due to increased insurance and transport costs.
 
Ha, I read the title of your post and thought you wanted to share your mum! Is she good at mucking out, and does she have any vices?

I think this is good, would you consider letting someone have a weekend day as well, or even one a fortnight? - you might find more interest that way. I might also rephrase the last bit to just say:
'There is also the possibility of the sharer taking Pippa on to compete.'

and discuss the details later.

Thank you all for the help and NPL for checking in to see how we got on, unfortunately she's decided she's not going to advertise for a sharer after all because she doesn't "see the point" because (I'm) "you're still here" even though she is "finding it really difficult" to do the horses herself 2 days a week where she just hays. No poo picking or anything, just hay :eek3:

My point was that I'm not going to be here for much longer as I'm moving (sooner than expected if things continue the way they are) and she could use the time before I go as a settling in period for the sharer to make sure they are a good fit but because I'm still here she doesn't see the point even though I've explained that she may not find someone right away either now or after I'm gone and that if she's struggling now just putting out hay 2 days a week she's going to be up a creek without a paddle after I'm gone and she's soley responsible 7 days a week! - Although I did put that last bit in better terms to her until we argued about the whole situation when I put it in exactly those terms because I was angry :o

Unfortunately it is true though, if she is struggling at the moment doing (so little) 2 days a week she's really going to learn the meaning of difficult when I'm not able to help :( She just doesn't see it and the whole thing worries me but it's getting to the point where there's nothing I can do and I'm just going to have to let her get on with it. It's a bit upsetting because I'm just trying to ensure she has all the tools she needs to be ok when I go because I know she's going to struggle but she's not getting it and I can't understand why :(
