I'm all googled out! I want a flashing harness for Kane, like the third one down on this link,

http://www.doggiesolutions.co.uk/flashing-dog-collar-lead-harness-6522-0.html

but they only go up to 32" and I need 35". Would a flashing collar be adequate for me to see where he is when trotting about off the lead? It was our first walk in the dark today & it was a bit disconcerting walking a black dog cos I couldn't see him!

Also are those torch/handle things that you clip a lead onto any good? We have to walk on wide, flat verges to get to the bridleway which v helpfully have drainage ditches across them, & I fell down 4 of them. Good job it was dark so no-one could see me making a prat of myself...

How about a normal or reflective harness and hang the blinkers on it. Sorry had to giggle at the image of you disappearing down drainage ditches!!

forgot to add, we had a flashing collar on our lab and that showed him up brilliantly on its own. It flashed red lights. He was very disappointed, he couldnt sneak off undetected!

Wow, lots of great ideas! Will def buy something over the w'end. It's v disconcertint walking something the size of a baby elephant & not being able to see where he's gone!

(Scared the living daylights out of myself yest. Was on the way home from a walk in the pitch black, on a verge, coming up to a huge oak tree. A car came up behind us & in the headlights I could see a man standing next to the tree. V v scared, & the dog was straining at the lead to get to him. Car went past & I was in total darkness not being able to see where the man had gone. Another car went past, & there he was, right in front of me... then I realised it was my shadow!!!! Was shaking afterwards tho - & it fooled the dog as well!!!)
