Help! More experiences on collateral ligament and IRAP needed....

I posted a while back about Muppet and the fact that she had damaged her collateral ligament. She has had IRAP and shockwave, finishing her last treatment yesterday. She was reassessed by the vet and found to be still slightly lame - about 1/10.

So, my question for anyone who has used IRAP successfully for a similar injury, was improvement noticed immediately or did it not happen until after all the treatment was complete? I am sort of assuming that this means that the treatment hasn't worked and isn't likely to, but just wanted to find others experiences.

Sorry we didn't try this treatment with Jesper as he was diagnosed a few years back and it wasn't an option (I wish it had been). Keeping my fingers crossed for you and hope someone on here can give you positive news.
 
my horse had irap was still lame on his third injection but soundish on his fifth about a month after treatment went sound he also had very bad collatral ligament damage
 
It is generally not expected to see an improvment immediately and can in fact often take several weeks following several sessions of IRAP. You get a better idea after about 1 month so don't worry yet these things take time. every horse is different so time to see results will vary quite a lot from one horse to another.
 
Jacob had IRAP for coffin joint issues back in April/May and is still lame

Sorry no more good news here-just had my 5 year old put down due to collateral ligament damage both medial and lateral.

Did not even consider the IRAP route as 3 legs were affected. The PM results on the LH showed that the collateral ligament was 95% gone.

The other horses I have seen with IRAP have about 20% chance depending upon the severity of the case-the other 80% are still paddock lame

can someone explain to me what causes this i thought that when my horse got it was because of old age hes seventeen im shocked a five year old could get this and is pts im so sorry fouraday. I never troted my horse on hard ground i never hammered him like most people on here no doubt wouldnt have done. so why us you see other people treat their horses like dirt nothing ever happens to them. im gonna stop now im sounding bitter
