I'm re-locating my horse to north Tyneside from the south and whilst I think I've found him a yard (still need to view it but they have 1 vacancy left) I still need to organise feed and bedding (shavings) etc.

I've had a look on the internet at where to buy but I've drawn a blank and yell.co.uk isn't any help either.

Does anyone know where I can go to put an order in? Any info greatfully received.

Also has anyone heard of Mares Close, Brenkley Stables, Ord & Sons, Granary Stables or Ten Acres Livery if so what are they like. I want my boy to go somewhere nice!!!

Where abouts in N.Tyneside? Not good with geography despite working in the area.
I could send you the horse section from yellow paper if you really stuck.
Equipment wise there are loads of places. Not sure feed wise though.

Hi Stassy - and welcome to the North! I believe that Mares Close isn't operating as a livery yard any more (sold for development), but there is quite a good selection of yards and suppliers in North Tyneside and within easy reach of the A1. If you can give me a clearer idea of where you are going (PM me if you prefer) and I will try to help.

Hi Stassy
Sikaran is right - mares close has closed down (well it does all year grazing only) - I have pm'd you with some details of yards.

Get your self a copy of the yellow paper, will have loads of places for you to try.

I'm only in Northumberland, not good with tyneside, but the yellow paper covers all over!

Thanks for the info everyone. I've been away from the area for a number of years and feed and bedding was arranged by the livery yard when I was there last so I'm trying to find out where everything is again!

I'm moving near to Killingworth so anywhere within a reasonable driving time from there would be ideal. But somewhere pleasant as my boy deserves to live somewhere nice!!

I've managed to locate the yellow paper on the internet and I now know where I'm getting my hay, a few places in Ponteland seem to be selling it!

I'm hoping to get up to Newcastle within the the next week or two and view some yards and order what I need. Then its the big move just after that so I need to get a move on!
