I was ill today and so couldn't do my lesson - my husband (who has only riden him for 10 minutes before today) decided he would step in and do the lesson! He rode him for the full hour - even cantered over poles! He is now the expert on all things horsey and is planning to hack him out tomorrow! He says he is claiming riding time after many months of mucking him out. Think we may be fighting over riding our horsey at the weekends now!

On the positive side you can share a hobby. As DS said buy him a horse, think of the fun you will have shopping for one and you can hack/compete together. All round could be a win/win situation.

LOL - my OH wanted to ride after 2 years of complaining of being my groom. My firey little TB would not have been suitable so we bought another chestnut mare - like a his and hers lol. The actual novelty of riding has worn off (but he never cantered over poles - merely hacks) - he does ride in nice weather but she is def a pampered pony! :)

If he rides out in the rain for 4 hours with the water trickling into his pants and round his nuts, and still wants to carry on, then time to worry ;)

Chauvinists the lot of you!! Mine is a male only riding household (the wife and daughter would rather shop).
Buy him a horse, we were out hunting last Friday and no part of my anatomy was dry...brilliant brilliant day.
This year my 18hh warmblood will dressage whilst my 16.3 Palomino hauls me cross country.
Girls dont have the monopoly

I ride the wife's horse as often as possible, the horse may be in her name but the horsebox is in mine.:)

My hubby has fallen in love with my horse, but not for riding - hubbys an early bird and loves going to the yard early am to let said horsey out - he does it every single day - work days, weekends, xmas, bank holidays - his alarm is set and he goes.
He loves it when arthur is first out, gets so upset when someone else is first is first lol
Apart from that hes nto bothered, about riding etc though he does help me when needed ie hes been spooky recently so is following us on our hack tomorrow
I dont get it, but my hubby loves it so im not complaining lol xxxxx
