its no numnah or a thin numnah they same colour as the tack. no saddle cloths. a coloured browband would be a good idea, if inhand a newmarket chain and lead rein is a good idea but if you don't have them matching reins are fine.

it all depends on which classes you intend on entering, if you are entering native classes or hunter types its plain bridle (including browband) if it riding club horse ect its coloured browbands.

this is how i was turned out with my mare last week end, this is not completely correct but acceptable

If I understood your post correctly (and I must admit I found it difficult to read with so little punctuation) your OH is going to lead your 6 yr old daughter on her grey lead-rein pony. I presume this will be at a local show.
If that's right, your daughter should wear beige/cream jodhs and brown jodhpur boots a black/blue or tweed jacket and a shirt and tie. Her hair should be tied out of the way, PLEASE no bunches with big red ribbons. The pony should wear brown tack with a brown leather lead-rein. As your OH is not riding he should NOT wear riding clothes, dark trousers would show your pony's legs off, he also needs a matching jacket with shirt and tie, many leaders wear a hat. If you can colour co-ordinate your daughter's clothes with OH's that makes a pleasing picture. You are absolutely right that red numnah etc are not correct. He needs either no numnah or a very thin one the same colour as the saddle just to keep the saddle clean.
If you get the chance go to watch similar classes before then to see what is acceptable.
Hope this helps, let us know how you get on. Good luck!

Coloured browbands seem to be the norm in lead-rein classes put plain would be equally correct.

Is the pony a native?? If it's lead rein then coloured browbands are a huge No No for natives. Ditto coloured numnahs...

Okay, for a native (or any lead rein class) it goes like this

Pony : black or havana plain tack, plain or plaited reins (rubber ones look cack), on a grey a white numnah or a brown one to match tack, white or matching girth.
Lead rein, leather, or a brown or black rope if you havent leather but it must be attached to the back of the noseband rather than through the bit or to the bit in anyway. A lead rein pony should be obedient to the rider's aids, and not be controlled via the bit by the handler.

Rider : velevet or velvet covered hat, canary shirt, tie, tweed jacket, beige / canary jodhs, brown boots, brown clips. Ribbons in hair to match tweed or tie looks smart.

Handler: women it's sunday best (think country casual, skirt, jacket, hat, long boots). men look fab in a pair of moleskins, smart shoes and bowler hat.

This is us at riding club level:
