I have a 17hh TBxWB coloured, 9 years old for sale. He is lovely. Has no vices. Has the occasional stop show jumping but is lovely natured and would make a great family horse. He has cubed and would love a hunting home. He is advertised on all of the main websites at what I think is a reasonable price. But I have just had no interest. I can count the number of phone calls I have had on one hand!

The only reason I am selling him is because he is to big for me. I persevered with him over the years but my legs simply are not long enough to push the right buttons. I am short so look like a pea on a drum.

I really want him to go to a good home. I have already brought another horse and simply can't afford / justify keeping 2!!! Because I have already brought another horse (and borrowed the money in the interim-oops!), I can't let him go for peanuts!

I assume if I take him to a dealer / sales I would have to take a real cut on the price? Plus, I am welling up at the thought of where he may end up???!!

Does anyone have any suggestions? We are based in Staffordshire? Are there any decent dealers out there that offer the right money? Also, where else can I advertise? He is on horse quest, H&H, horse select, horse mart and horse deals.

A bit of advice would be greatly appreciated!

It's a bad time to sell. Hay prices are going through the roof and there have been many straw crops plowed back into the ground already due to failure. People just don't seem to be taking the risk of buying a horse that they may not be able to feed come winter :(
