I am about to move to Dorset, near Bridport on the Dorset/ Devon Border and do not know the area at all!!! I am now thinking I must be mad but have my reasons. My dilemma is I’m an Equine Sports massage therapist and Freelance Groom and need to find work. Firstly I would like to find freelance grooming work to get to know the area and people; I don’t really mind what the work is or driving a bit to get there. I used to be a 3 day event groom and have worked at most types of yards over the years. I currently ride out race horses and re-train ex-racehorses, with plenty of experience of difficult horses and helping with so called problem horses. Once I’ve got myself down there I’ll hunt round for yards and do more advertising but would be massively grateful if anyone knew of places looking for someone or could point me in the direction of yards to try. I have a couple or websites if you’d like to know a bit more about me: www.equisport-massage.co.uk, www.equigroom.zazar.net. Thanks for your help.

I'm not from the area personally, but why no get in touch with an area Pony Club DC or someone in charge of a riding club? People share details of who they use for what etc. between eachother, so if you do a few people's horses word will get round. It's worth a shot at least.

I keep my horses, near bridport, but am on private land. Don't know many yards. Are you looking for somewhere to keep your horse or to base your work? There's quite a few places you could advertise your work, i.e scats, bartletts, plus a few other tack/feed shops. Theres a bigish yard in charminster.
