help needed to carry on riding

i have a pot on my arm due to fractured scaphoid in wrist i am trying to ride again just walking mind you and my boy is being an absolute angel apart from diving his down a lot as i am riding him on a looseish rein and he knows i cant keep him in a contact any ideas as to what i can do sto p him doing this as not riding has been driving me nuts help

grass reins like small kiddies have might help, they do help on some of the ponies at my yard to stop the small kids being pulled over the ponies head

thanks never seen these how do i set them up and are they a special rein to buy or can i use something else

You can buy leather ones (though might be hard finding one to fit a horse?) or a bit of baler twine would do the trick. Run from D to bit ring on one side.
