Hi there, I wonder if anyone could tell me the approx year and model of this rice horse box please? We have just bought it for renovation and can’t find another like it. Any help much appreciated. It is 11.6 long and has 3 vents at the front above the the hitch end of the trailer. It’s taller than my van (just behind it) and is a monster! Thank you. 4A51517C-4EDA-4C25-8DEE-20AFB70DBB5C.jpeg

its old! Its an old Rice farmers hunt trailer. They started making them in the 50s and I am pretty sure they stopped in the 80s.

Its one of the smaller trailers. Just for comparison, mine is over 16 foot long and about 9 foot high inside!

Hi Leo, thank you. I thought it was one of the older versions. It was sold to me as a vintage and quite rare. That really helps, thank you

well its vintage but its not remotely rare. There are lots and lots of them still about. I think there's 4 on eBay at the minute. People buy them for between 100 and 500 quid and turn them into mobile bars or coffee vans etc. There are still people transporting horses in them, but they arent popular as they are rear unload only

We had one a good few years back and in ok condition (but not a renovation like yours) , it was 42 years old, hubby hated towing it as it was heavy and he said the flat front made it feel like he was towing a shed. Be VERY careful taking it out in the wind when it’s finished, we had to do an emergency run in ours in moderate wind and it definitely didn’t feel safe.

They shouldnt be heavy, they come in at about 700kgs. My triple with wooden floor and triple portion etc weighs on at 1280kgs and its enormous, whereas an Ifor 505 isn't much less and significantly smaller
