Hi everyone I am planning on getting a new shorter dressage girth and have one already. I have measured it but I am bit confused where to take the measurement from. From the buckles it is 31 inches and from the outer material its 34 inches so not sure what smaller size to get. Any ideas which measurement it would be taken from.
Anybody have a preference of choiceon which girth?

Cheers

When I was measuring for mine I put the saddle on horse and then took a piece of baling twine and tied a knot in the end, threaded it through a hole on the girth strap and then threaded it through the hole on the girth strap on the other side and then knotted that end (obviously after you have unthreaded it!!). I then took the baling twine to the tack shop as a guide measurement!! I got the neoprene Keiffer dressage girth - very nice and comfy and was about £40 - I think!

"Official" girth length is end of buckle to end of buckle - remember that if you get one with elastic inserts or splash out on a leather one it may stretch a bit over the years (and at those prices ours are expected to last forever!)
