So the mare had tapeworm (high) infestation - found in January and treated with double dose of Equest Pramox. She had been wormed about 8 - 10 weeks previously (but not for tapeworm).. sorry havent got my diary with me to be exact!!
Vets recommendation was repeat single dose of Pramox in 6 months i.e. July
This was over and above the normal worming program.. the yard do an egg count and worm on regular basis and the next one is due in a couple of weeks.
My question - when i read the Pramox box it indicated it was only for tapeworm. Should I worm her again for treating other worms now? And then again with Pramox in July?
Or should I remove her from the yards cycle and wait until July?
She was treated for lots of colic brought about by Tapeworm and has been know to colic after worming, so now a bit confused as don't want to over worm her as such if it could lead to more colic, but also don't want to 'under' worm her!
Any ideas? Thanks!
