My horse is leaning to the right when ridden but her body goes to the left but is pulling on the right rein!
She's ridden in a gag on the top ring, is this too strong or do I have other problems? Ive had her teeth checked and no problems were found!

Help!

I had this problem after I had Violet when I started riding again and when my instructor came out Liam... he said it was me and to go to the physio. I went to the physio and it turned out I had a rotated pelvis and my whole right side was 2 inch lower than my left, I had also worn the right panel of my saddle down with being sat twisted. The physio lady fixed me and I saw an instant improvement.

Often when a horse is heavier on one rein, the problem is not at the front end, but more that one of their back legs is weaker than the other, and they are relying on the rider to help them balance on that rein.

Can you ask someone else to ride her on the circle so you can see whether she is tracking up equally on both sides? Have you tried including shoulder-in on both reins in your warm ups?

On problem could be that she is tensing the muscles on the left had side, therefore will feel like she is leaning to the right. If she was mine I would get her back checked and see what that brings up, the I would probably get her sports massaged.

Ditto this. Have yourself checked as well as the horse. I had a twisted pelvis and FB used to carry his head and neck to the left to compensate for my bad weight distribution, not good for his poorly back. Osteopath sorted me and now we are much better
