Ok so not entirely horsey related - but I need help!

Can anyone tell me whether Cumnor Village hall is ok and whether or not you can get to Cumnor via the Swinford Toll Bridge.

I am sitting an exam there on wednesday (exam = security and more money for the horses!!)

Anyone wondering why I am asking this question - its because last time I checked Farmor was under 4ft of water...... ekkkk

hi

we went past Cumnor Sat morning and it was fine, but most of Eynsham was closed off so we ended up doing a de-tour around Standlake.

The water has risen since then and appears to be still rising so you might want to call them up and ask before you go!

I'll keep listening to the radio, but I think the peaks are due between about 2-7am tomorrow morning.

Hi,

The Swinford toll bridge is fine. Well it was at 8.30 this morning! I drove from Witney, out through Sutton and Standlake then over the toll bridge and there was flooding at Sutton but is was passable. Everywhere else was fine. Not sure about Cumnor though.

Hope that helps. Can you ring the people organising the exam to check?

I called the examinations helpline and they said it was still on (but not whether you could actually get there or not!!)

Fingers crossed that the flooding doesn't get much worse!

eck!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! cos we're just now flooding around us, it's gone over seawall on lower severn below gloucester. Mates have been helping local farmers moving stock all afternoon

It is still rising in the Oxford area as well - luckily my horses are on a hill outside town!

I have seen several RSCA cars around the city and have volunteered to help in case one of the yards here need an extra pair of hands to move their horses, late tonight. All their fields are submerged but the stables are still ok, though the roads to the yard are flooded and closed.

I really hope no horses got stuck in the Tewkesbury area :-(
