Newbie poster from Australia here, I have had a test ride in a k2 and a Kontrol. I liked the k2, I didn't like the Kontrol- it wasn't 'forward' cut enough. My dream saddle is the Kontact lite, but as I am buying one from the UK and importing it to Australia I am worried that it will get here and I won't think it is forward enough. There are no Kontacts that I can test ride in over here.
So what would you do? I ride quite short, am 5'6 tall. Would you go for the kontact? would you stick to the k2? Have you ridden in both and how did you compare them?
Thank you :)

I would personally go for the K2 as you have actually tried it and liked it! I thought that the Kontact lite was just the single flap version of the Kontact, so if you don't like the kontact I don't think you would like the lite either.
I have ridden in both, I think that the K2 is a lot blockier and more supportive, offering more security than the kontact lite, which is very 'close contact'

I have to change my K2 as it just doesn't fit my horse anymore. Tried the Kontrol and really liked the feel of it to sit in although the model the saddler had didn't fit my horse so difficult to know. She's ordering me the model that should fit him so can decide then. I actually think the K2 is too forward cut for me. There's always a lot of saddle in front of my knee in photos. The Kontact looks quite similar in shape to the Kontrol - I couldn't really work out what the difference was meant to me.

was going to say have you tried the kontrol......Ive sat in one at a tradestand and loved it. great price too. Probably on my top three list to try when im ready to go jump saddle shopping

I tried the Kontrol and didn't like it- not forward cut enough for me. Can you attach pics on here?

I haven't tried a Kontact (dual or lite) as there isn't one in Aust for me to be able to try.
