Help please - any vets on here?

Sorry to post in NL but more people are viewing.

My JRT has just accidentally eaten one tablet of Vetmedin (intended for another dog for whom it is prescribed). The dog weighs about 5 kilos, the vetmedin contains 1.25 mg pimobendan.

Should I call my vets or is this non-problematic?

No idea but keep eye on dog.....if seems ok id prob leave it but then i really know nothing lol

He seems fine. If he seemed in distress I would call the vet immediately.

As far as I can tell, Vetmedin slows the heart, but I assume that one tablet (at what coincidentally happens to be the recommended dose for his weight) won't have any drastic effects, which is why I don't want to wake my vet up!

I am sure your vet would prefer a call now rather than at 2am! and it will give you peace of mind.
Hope he will be ok!
