Hi everyone! I was wondering if you could all give me a hand, abit of help and your opinions!
I know that I can't physically change my filly but would like to see what you all think of her. We have our first show (for both of us) on the 21st of August and preperations started today.
Abit more about us/the class we're entering: The class we're entering is Welsh Section A 2/3year old filly/gelding.
Bramble is a three year old welsh section A filly, she has impecable behaviour and if anything is lacking 'spark' so may start to have some oats in the following weeks (she only gets a couple of handfulls of Happy Hoof a day). She has dark legs bar two small white socks on her hind legs, i've gone for creamish coloured smart officey trousers, is this right? So her legs stand out from my own? What sort of top should I be going for?
Also the main question: is her mane length right? It's been pulled from being longer than her neck to the current length, does it need to go abit shorter? It's quite thick too =\
Any opinions on her confirmation, mane, what I should wear will be GREATLY appreciated!

WOW she looks identical to a filly i had about 2-3 yrs ago, whats her show name? mine was llafar midnight suprise, just interested if they were from the same breeder.
When i shown mine i wore, cream pants and a tweed showing jacket, the mane length looks about right to me. You can get a rake to thin it out.

There's not a lot you can do about it now but M&M's should be shown natural i.e. not pulled or plaited. I'm sure people do tidy up but without shortening. She's a pretty little thing. I bet she'll make a nice lead-rein/first ridden later.

Thats how it should be, but if you go to a show and look at the M&M classes, all the ponies have shortish manes, i judge actualy told me i needed to shorten my sec ds mane

I would say that mane is ideal for a welshie... you do see all different lengths but I would say that is most common.
tail, is it brushed out in the arena pics, am wondering if some discreet trimming might make it look more full.. though you still want it to look natural, not cut straight across.

I would be wary of feeding her anything, she is carrying plenty of weight anyway and IME it just goes on the belly not into any extra energy really.

I think I like her confo (not v good at that though ;) ) but often movement can be what really makes the difference in the judging in hand. have you been practicing your running? :D :D

good luck and do report back :)

eta put a single plait at the v top of her mane too :)

I would shorten the tail - slightly!!!:D

I do mine with one of those human hair thining razor things that you buy in boots - just hold tail at the end and thin out and shorten - do not do it straight you need to keep the natural "point" in it - I would usually do this a couple of months before - but you have a month so if you don't go beserk you should be ok:D

the mane looks a bit solo comb ish at the top! get on a pair of rubber gloves and pull the ends only to make it look a bit more natural.

I trim ears, jaw and shave wiskers.

Really good bath of body mane and tail the night before - rug well to lay coat and bring up shine. Whiten socks.

I do not put in the plait at the top of the head - this is personal choice and it is acceptable for this to be done

If you want to PM me your email address I can send you some photos of my 2 yr old section A gelding from last weekend - cant up load photos onto here as my file server won't play ball!

Thanks for all the replies everyone! Her mane was many many many inches longer and made her look awful, I certainly didn't want to use scissors so had no choice but to pull it!
She lives with a little plait behind her ear, I think it makes her look even prettier (you can just see it in the 2nd picture)

Tinkandlily - She's called Mynyddcymro Blue Bramble by Algarth Sarason out of Oldacres Blue Mink. Funnily enough there's a mare down the road that looks oddly similar to Bramble!
Ester - yep running is in full swing =\ I hate it, I look like a tomato before very long and can imagine showing her up on the day! But hey ho!

Thanks for all the comments so far, keep them coming!
