This is going to sound really stupid! But when it says do a 15m circle at A, where do I ride exactly??

i.e. do I stay an equal amount away from the long sides at F and K, or do I stick my 15m circle in one corner and leave 5m from one edge?

Also, with a change of canter lead on a diagonal through trot, how many trot strides am I supposed to do?

Thanks

All transitions are mented to progressive at this level ......... but the what i've done about two or three, but think bouncy trot and set up correct felxion before X, and without think you'll pick up canter on correct rein.
A good schooling exercise for this is place two poles eitherside of x (ie like bridge) and do figure of 8 in canter and as you go through poles ask for trot and then ask for correct canter lead and then in test just have image of poles on ground

The main thing to think about is not to panic and rush through the transition it is better at this level to take your time and be balanced than rush to get back into canter.

Re the 15m circle if you can pratice in an arena you can measure out the circle and draw a line on the surface and then ride over your line and you will get the feel for the size.

Thanks everyone.

Horsey has no probs changing canter lead through just one stride of trot, but didn't know whether you were expected to do 2 - 3 or be penalised if less or more.

15m circle - thanks RuthW - will score the track in the arena and then ride to it.
