Does anyone know much about this? I have currently got a 17" narrow medium Albion jump saddle, and I want very much to change to a 17" narrow medium Albion dressage saddle. My only worry is that the dressage saddle wont fit my horse? I have tried asking a saddler and they just said something vague about 'oh well it depends on the individual saddle' but my logic thinks that, subject to reflocking, the same brand/size/width fitting should be OK?

Has anyone found that this HASNT applied to them when getting a new/different saddle?

I would think there are probably so many variables that the only thing to do would be to get a saddler to check it asap after purchase:). Whilst I can understand your thinking the style of dressage v jump saddle is obviously different. They may have been made in different years so the design tweaked/changed, the flocking may have been adjusted for the previous horse etc etc

Sorry that is probably no help to you at all.............:rolleyes::rolleyes::)

I can see your point exactly SU, and just to reassure that would be the first thing I would have done when I got the dressage saddle, get the saddler out to look at it and get it reflocked to fit Boblet :) I just dont want them to turn up and say 'oh no, it wont fit at all, you cant use it for him...'

PS - and I hate Google Chrome correcting my spelling!!! :D

Are there no saddlers near you that do second hand saddles? :confused:We have had second hand saddles for my neices horses before for your budget and under and good makes - Bransby, Black Country to name but two. Obviously both of mine had to have bloody expensive brand new saddles as that is just my luck........:rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes::D

Still I have sold my old ones on ebay and almost got back what I paid for them.:D:D:D

Nope the saddlers around me have been rubbish, it is all my fault for having a horse which is a narrow medium apparently! I did get shown a saddle on Saturday in worse condition than the one I am hoping to buy, and they wanted £500 for it!!!!

Albion do different trees too, a TB tree with a V shaped gullet and long points and a warmblood tree with a U shaped gullet and shorter points so it would depend on which is fitted (not sure how to tell which is which though)
