I was after some help.....

My mare had steroid injections into her coffin joints a few days ago and today she has warm feet. There is no pulse, and she is weight baring fine......but I was wondering if this is normal or not?

She has been stabled until this morning and today was out muzzled.

I know there is a lami risk which is why im worried.

Disclaimer: She is in tonight on well soaked hay, and I will be calling my vets tomorrow for advice, I was just wondering if anyone could offer any advice in the mean time...

It can happen after steroids.
Treat as laminitas and be careful it doesnt develop further, low starch/sugar diet/ soak hay/ limit grazing.

Personally, if I had the slightest suspicion that my horse had laminitis, I would not be turning her out, muzzled or otherwise. She would be stabled on a deep shavings bed with soaked hay and nothing else to eat until the vet got there.

Agree with unbalanced. My friends horse gets lami on barely any grass after he had his steriod injection. I was very lucky my boy didn't suffer with that side effect

OP has said the mare is now in with soaked hay so she is already treating it as laminitis! I would carry on OP and speak to your vet tomorrow :)

Thanks guys.

Yeah don't worry she is being/will be treated likes it laminitis and I will be speaking to my vet in the morning, I was just kind of hoping you would say no that can happen after steroids don't worry :(

It can, but the problem is that steroids can cause laminitis as well, and it is always better to err on the side of caution than not with lami.
I am really paranoid because my pony is prone to lami and will be having her steroids in her hocks in the next couple of weeks probably before the insurance runs out so I will be watching her like a hawk - she will be in for three days with only soaked hay and no grass at all, poor thing. But again, I'd rather do that than risk getting laminitis again.
Fingers crossed for the vet coming tomorrow and saying your horse is absolutely fine x
