I will be opening a livery yard next month and I would like your help to get the prices right.

The yard is less than half a mile onto Dartmoor (over 100,000 acres of right to roam).
Stables are either 12X12 or 14X14
Rubber matting and automatic waterers.
A 20X40 all weather school.
A round pen
A four horse walker
Secure tack room
Toilet
Kitchen
35 acres of paddocks

Turnout will be available all year round with 24/7 turnout from at least April to November. No just grass liveries - a stable per horse.

I will be offering DIY - hay/haylage and bedding to be bought from yard
Part DIY - bring in/ turn out and mucking out including bedding and hay
Full as part plus feed, grooming

Happy to carry out additional tasks for a fee
turn out/bring in
rug change
feed
putting on horsewalker

What would be a reasonable price for mid devon for the three types of livery. I know what I would have charged in Glos but having kept my horses at home am not really up on mid devon prices. I have run a livery before - just not in this area

Thanks for ideas and help

sound the same kind of set up as where i am at the moment but im on diy apart from they feed in the morn then i go and turn out mid morning £15..pw

I'm on the Somerset/Devon border and have a very similar set up except no winter T/O and the hacking is mostly on-road However I do have access to an indoor when it isn't in use by the riding school and the yard is a decent local competition venue.

I pay £20 per week DIY plus hay and straw at seasonal cost. I would say this would be resonable for what you are offering. I also pay £3.50 for the horsewalker and 50p per task for ad hoc tasks.

I think part livery at my yard is £70 per week but that includes everything (hay/straw/hardfeed etc). Not sure tho as I am DIY.

Hope this is helpful!

I stable my horse in devon. DIY is £22 a week. They do part for £55 per week, (five sessions, so five muck outs, bring ins, turn outs etc with everything included except feed) and full is £70 per week, everything included but not feed. The yard has a 25x 50m indoor arena and a 30x 70 outdoor floodlit arena, and the stables are either 15x15 or 12x12, but there is a reduction of £5 a week if you have a horse in one of the smaller boxes. Turnout 24/7 from summer clock change to october clock change. Then turnout is 8.30 am to 2.30 pm in winter unless its totally tipping it down. Pm me if you want more info!
