as above really, to begin with she isnt lame and shes not in pain with it but I notice her hock was swollen anout 3 weeks ag, YO head yard person said it was just fluid and that beacuse she wasnt lame she'd work the fluid and unless the fluid moved to the front of her leg shell be ok,

Any how we've being working, hacking, jumping, she's turned out everyday and its still swollen, tonight it felt lumpy but shes still not lame and its still not causing her any pain.

Ideas anyone please? Maybe I could put her on a week of anti inflamatries?

hello, my horse had a swollen hock last week got my vet, it was to much fluid around the joint so he drain just a little as this fluid is much needed, and gave four injection in and around the joint, my horse has just been hacking for a week and it looks great, but he was lame just on the lunge, vet coming out next week to check again.hope that this helps you out.

My mare had a swollen hock over the summer to the point it looked capped. I cold hosed it for 10 minutes morning and night and put some Lincoln Cool Gel, (you cant compete for 3 days if you use it as its not jockey club approved) but it is fantastic stuff and really works. My boyfriend used it on his Knee when he tore all the ligaments.

We couldn't believe how much her hock went down, she was turned out 24/7 on it as well which i think helped.
