... my old hats? :o
I have 2 old skulls laying around and want to get rid of them, where do they go?
And I also have 2 navy velvet show hats with flesh straps, both only worn a few times, never fallen on/ dropped. I need a new velvet hat, as other two no longer fit me, was just wondering do you reckon it would be worth trying to sell them? Not for very much, even if I only got a tenner it would help! :p Not sure what to do... hence I'm asking, if it's a bad idea, just say! ;)
Thanks! :D

Whack the non-damaged hats on a poster for your local riding school, £5 or £10 each.

But my OH is saying he'd never take on a second hand hat, so he's saying unless you can find someone who wants one for decorative purposes, chuck it!

The damaged one, bin I'm afraid!

If you have a local tack auction put the show hats in there, or on ebay, they usually get a good price and plenty of people do buy second hand.

I would just chuck the old ones in the bin

Thank you! I thought that would be the case with the damaged ones, just wasn't sure if they're allowed in the bin! As for the undamaged ones, I see where your OH is coming from as I've had it drummed into me second hand ridings hats are a no-no, but I've come across a fair few people who've bought one of ebay! Won't hurt to see if anyone will buy them I guess.

I've put old damaged hats in the bin, I do however cut off the straps and pull out the lining etc as I would hate for them to be taken out of the rubbish and used.

Years ago my Step-dad worked as a bin man and brought home all kinds of stuff he found in the bins. I would hate for someone to use my old hat and get injured.
