Hi all, I hope someone can give me some advice.
I found a pug breeder from the KC website who had puppies available, so went along to see them.
Family home, saw both parents etc. The lady told me they were pedigree but I'm not wanting to breed or show so didn't take that conversation further.
Now I'm told she interbreeds, and so not sure what to do next.
The person who told me this is a "friend of friend" who breeds herself and I didn't go to see her pups! Is it sour grapes?
Ive put down 200 deposit which don't want to lose of course.
What shall I do? Ask to see breed papers? If so, what am I looking for?

Thanks

Inbreed or interbreeds - very different things.
Inbreeding is a useful tool if the dogs that are duplicated in the pedigree are good.
Do you have a copy of the pedigree? There are several of us on here who could access it for you. You could put the parents into the KC mate select but that only gives numbers and not quality.

Family pets and both parents present is not a good sign.
It depends on how good the breeding behind them is and how compatible they are. They may well be fine or equally they could just have a random pair and decided to fund this years holiday with a litter.
how old is Mum?
Is this her first litter?
What happened to previous pups they've bred?

I don't know the answer to these questions, but have contacted the breeder to see if she will give me the answers and am waiting for her reply.
I do remember her saying this wasn't the first litter she always had one with one white paw.
And that she had bought mum from the Midlands rather than Portsmouth which is where she, the breeder lives.

Fingers crossed......
