Help please.....with Harry

What on earth do I do now with this ongoing saga!! Poor old Harry has been on/off lame the last week,so organised vet to come out today. I have spoken via email to his owner in the last couple of days about his future. In my honest opinion,I think he should be put to sleep as we are unsure of his pain levels. I spoke to owner who agrees,although for other reasons tbh ie. money and not wanting him back.

So I arranged with owner for her to come out today to discuss with vet.....and guess what, she text 10 mins before to say she couldn't come. She is renowned for this. I said I'd sort.

Vet arrived,discovered another abcess,dealt with it etc. I then asked about his future,to which vet was happy to discuss with me but said that no decision could be made unless owner there.

So happier Harry,all bandaged and buted turned out again and phone bleeps.It's owner asking how vet went. I sent one back briefly saying I couldn't do anything as owner needs to be there. I had no response.

I am now in an awful situation. Loan agreement only lasts till 25th Feb. He is obviously unable to be rehomed,owner really unable to look after him and doesn't want to tbh,livery yard owner friend doesn't want him back either,and I am unable to do anything concrete about his future.

What do I do,phone the RSPCA?Police? Deliver him back to owner? Help!!!
 
text stupid owner saying horse booked in for potters. harsh but i dont see beating around the bush is getting any where and a harsh thump of reality is needed on owner.
 
I am unable to book in.....for legal reasons. I am not the owner. Shame but true.

she proberely doesnt know that part. so worth a shot. (no pun intended)

i cant see any rescue centre taking him, due to high costs of care involved. i presume you know where she lives, maybe go and pay her a visit. sooner rather than later.
 
im guessing she wont show up, if not be ready to go round her house and be harsh, the woman makes me want to go and slap her!

another option, get her to sign the horse over to you, if u go this route make sure u do a contract stating your not liable for out standing vets bills and that she hands the passport over.

Or get her to sign a witnessed document giving you permission to take decisions on her behalf.
