I have recently aquired a 16hh reasonably well bred 4yr old irish. I hvae noticed that she has a reasonably large scar on her right hind foot which runs from just abover her coronet band down into her hoof. It does not seem to effect her soundness and is clearly an old injury. This is a horse that I will be selling on so my quesyio is:
If she were up for sale between £3500-£4750 would this scar bother you at all?

Your thoughts are greatly appreciated. thanks

if i was looking for a horse it would not bother me as i do not show... but i would want the vet to have a good poke about at the vetting...
if the horse was good and sound and had potential then it would not bother me :)

My TB has a nasty scar from a barbed wire accident as a youngster. It too runs around coronet band & down into hoof. Hoof grows with an indent down which weakens the hoof wall however this has improved dramatically over the years & is much less obvious now. He has had xrays in the past which have shown no damage to the inside workings.
