Does anyone know/have any experience of Presa Canarios?

We currently have a 9 moth old Presa X Rottie bitch in the kennels. She is looking for a home, long story, but basically her 'owner' has told us today Presas are a very aggressive breed and no one will have her because of this.

However she is a gorgeous dog, soft nature, seems fine with cats and other dogs, but I think without plenty of socialisation and training she would become aggressive, she is already beginning to test her boundaries with us, but she's been in 20 days and we haven't the time to put into training her, we aren't a rescue kennels. As long as someone started on her asap I don't think shed be any trouble.

I am dreading her getting into the wrong hands :(

Found this, not sure if it's any help:

http://www.breedersonline.co.uk/dogs/presa-canario.asp

It also states:

In some situations, the Presa can be aggressive toward animals, other dogs, and even humans in rare cases. Once the dog has been properly socialized and trained, this becomes the exception rather than the rule. Many Presas share their homes with birds, cats, dogs, horses, reptiles and other animals.

Due to its temperament, the Presa Canario can be a challenge to train. They require a firm owner who is willing and able to meet the challenges a young, dominant puppy may pose.

Importation and sale of the breed is prohibited in Australia.

Is there a breed club in the UK??

No idea, probably worth us looking into it. The situation is a tricky one, she was apparently rescued but the put in the kennels whilst the rescuer's own dog was unwell. We've now been messed around so much we are starting to wonder what we haven't been told, as surely a rescuer would be more interested in the dog than she has been.

God knows who decided crossing those two breeds would be a good plan!!
