hi there i was trying to hitch my trailer up today, and u looosened the bit that keeps the jockey wheel in place supiidly the wheel took the brunt of the trailer, now it only goes up to a certain height and keeps clicking and not goin up any further help please have i broke it? its a brand new ifor williams

This is not easy to explain... The jockey wheel has a handle that you can turn to wind the wheel up and down. But it can only go so far, you have probably wound it as far as it can go - if you over-do it, you might even have wound it off the bottom of the screw, if you know what I mean.

If you undid the clamp that holds the leg of the jockey wheel, the nose of the trailer will slide down this leg and hit the floor ? I assume this is what you have done.

I also assume your trailer is not parked on flat ground, because otherwise the trailer should actually balance pretty much on it's own and not fall down onto the hitch.

You need someone to help you tip the back of the trailer down, get someone to get inside it and their weight ought to bring it down.

big red says it well, i used to have this happen til i figured out what was going on, when the tow hitch was too low i would use a strong fence post to lever it up while someone put a large log or building block underneath, make sure you put the post fairly well under to get the leverage, i also did this with a trailer that had no jockey wheel, and could attach to the car (when empty f course!) don't try to lift it without the post and put on the handbrake so it does'nt roll

once you know how to rewind it you'll be fine
