ok so a friend wants to buy a horse - nothing wrong with that and i happy to help her find one, i am no pro at buying horses but i have brought a couple, where at this is her first

so the friend is question has suffered with its in the past (now been a year with out one) and not to be offensive is not the strongest of riders so ideally to me i want to look for a school master/safe first horse for her

she has sent her site on a pony she has found which is fine its a nice little bay mare, not to be only 14'2hh but she wants to ring now and buy the mare!!

we live in the isle of man!!! and the horse in question is for sale in England!!
she wants to buy this mare with out seeing it!! with out riding it!! or vetting!!

now to me this is a dangerous situation and i have made my view very clear that i wouldn't do that i would go visit and ride the horse first

but she is not listen

so dear HHoers what do i do??
Do i let her buy the mare and maybe end up with a horse she cant handle
or do i continue to plead with her not to be so draft (in my opinion!)

Maybe she's happy to take a,chance on buying it unseen and if it turns out to be unsuitable then she can sell it on. As long as your friend is prepared to put the horse on full livery until sold, if it turns out to be too much for her to handle, then the horse will come to no harm.

You can advise.
Tell her the worse case.
She may end up with a horse with major problems. Big vet bills and having an unrideable pet for
many years.

Try and get her to go see the horse or atleast get a vet to look it over on her behave.

Other than that if she won't listen just be there as a friend to help if things go wrong.

Hopefully it won't though!

Tell her she could really be missing out by not seeing the horse in the flesh and why not set up a couple to see? That way you aren't preaching? I do agree with what you say but maybe find another way of getting her to see sense!
