Sooo... I really need some help/advise.
Last year I got kicked in the leg by a horse when I was riding as it reversed into me, I quite badly broke it (bone sticking through leg, blood ,etc. - not pretty!) I spent a few days in hospital, 2 operations, 10 weeks in cast and an awful lot of tears and screams. Before the break I loved competitions, XC, SJ, etc on my 13hh gorgeous pony but ever since I was kicked I'm scared to death of going near other horses. I really want to conquer this fear as now when I go out competing I find it very very difficult to warm up because, of course, there are horses everywhere! My mum is getting sick of my occasional screams and crying but I really don't think you can understand how it feels unless you have been there yourself. I am getting to the point where I don't know how much longer I will be able to compete because I really can't stand, even when I am hacking, another horse coming past me. It is also affecting my horse because she now flinches when other horses come past because I get very tense. People have been very good with me but I think everyone is starting to think I am putting it on- which I definitely am not!
A couple of people have suggested hypnosis and I just wondered if anyone recommends this or has any other suggestions. I am just really really sick of it now and can't bear to imagine not competing in the future. Please help
