can some one help me please i got a 15.1 cob which is a very good jumper when i get up to the jump i can feel him pulling on the bit,ive done trotting poles and he is fine and ive schooled him round in front of the jump to and he fine so what else can i do

you lucky sod! I'm having a bit of a mare jumping Ty!

Have you tried a pelham? If he's still jumping but you're worried that you haven't got the control then maybe up the bitting.

does he try and rush or does he just pull on the reins?

how about raised trotting poles?

or have about 3-4 poles before the jump so he has to maintain a steady rhythm?

have you had jumping lessons? sometimes we subconsiously pull with the reins and don't give the horse their head enough....a good teacher will help you overcome that!

charlotte yes he is rushing the jumps and pulling like mad on the bit ive got a durch gag on him at the moment the one with only 1 ring under the snaffle bit so what i done today is put on back to the snaffle rain just to see if it was the bit being to much for him but still no good

I hate dutch gags. The bit may not even be the problem but I would imagine a cob-type would be better suited to a pelham or kimblewick.
Have a lesson with a good instructor and they should be able to help you.
