I use Absorbine hoof Black polish on my mares feet. It was totally dry and not sticky when i rode her today. however it has come off all over her BRAND NEW WHITE jumping boots that cost me a small fortune.

Any suggestions to remove it. Iv tried everything, the height of which was a scourer pad soaked in nail varnish remover. Its still there. NOT budging!:mad::mad:

NOT USING IT AGAIN!

Maybe try Acetone, it is the active ingredient in most nail polish removers but if applied neat it might to do the trick.

Have you tried using vanish spray?

D'oh

We got some for showing but were warned at the tack shop about it being a bit of a b****r if it gets onto clothes or boots. Have you tried surgical spirits?

Have you tried hairspray? I can't recall ever using it on absorbine hoof polish, but I have often used it to get other brands of hoof black off hands etc with great success.

MrsD123 - I'm off to have a rummage in the garage for some white spirit or what not now :)
me too! this was the first time she had worn them as well. Just to hack to a dressage competition. typical!

Magicmillbrook - I'v had the stuff on a white saddle cloth too! utter bugger to get out. Needless to say the saddle cloth is now being used as a dogs bed.

I think i should just not be allowed near the stuff ever again!
