Help!! Rubbed paw pad

Hi all took our lab out today for a walk and somehow he has rubbed the pad on one foot and is lame on it for obvious reasons.
It's more a scrape so no need for vet currently. Have washed in dilute salt water as don't want to dry out his paw and have put an antiseptic lotion on it (dog trainer provided)
Only thing I'm wondering is should I wrap it up to pad it out or just let it breathe? Hate seeing him lame!!

I would just leave it, chances are he would pull any padding off and I find dog pads heal very quickly if just left alone.

I agree, I wouldn't cover it, you are doing the right thing by washing in salt water, it's a great healer.

My dog had this a few weeks ago, but she kept scraping it on the ground and making it worse. I bathed it once a day in Hibiscrub then put a wound pad over it and wrapped vet wrap round to keep it in place. I did want to let the air get to it, but as soon as I left if off she was licking it and making it sore. It took about 8 days to heal completely, but all fine now.
