Hi,

I was wondering if anyone else has had the same issue with their horse as i am having the moment. I cannot find anything online relating to his problems.
APRIL- He came out in lumps all over his back and side, they were hot and sore, spread all around to his chest. Called the vet, said he was photosensitive due to the clover and put him on steroids and it cleared up.
JULY- He got a fly bite on his back and then flared up with the same hot lumps/scabs a couple of days later. Also on his back. I gave him some more steroids and they started to clear up, however this time as i was reducing his steroids he is starting to get the lumps again. The lumps always start in the same place.
I was wondering if anyone else had experienced anything like this and if they found anything that helped? I don't want to keep giving him steroids.
He is out on a night and in through the day and wears a fly rug.

Any help/advice really appreciated as i don't know where to go next with it :)

The last time I had one with similar symptoms the vet tried various things but the best response came from giving him NAF detox, the lumps went within a couple of days and never came back, steroids will reduce the reaction but will not sort out the cause which is probably his immune system being over reactive.
