Recently bought a mare last month and noticed these marks when we first saw her, owner told us they were from being nicked in the field, got her vetted and vet said they were cosmetic and hair will grow over but I think I’ve started noticing more come up, she’s also very tetchy being touched around her torso and stomach she’s had a foal in the past but not sure if that’s it any ideas on what could be causing them or am I just worried over nothing

I can't really comment or offer any advice from the pictures but if it is getting worse I would ask a vet to look at it again.

The first symptom that my mare had of Cushings was a skin problem and the 6 yr old Shire that in hinsight had Cushings also started with a skin problem that was very similar - weeping bare patches that got bigger over time.. I would certainly involve a vet and push for a Cushings test, regardless of her age.
