Hi,

A friend of mine has a lovely stallion, imported over from Spain as a yearling (now 4) he has a spanish chip and she was told he is part bred warmblood. He must have breeding somewhere, and we want to trace him back. Any ideas?

Chip number is 941000002836919

He's a palomino, about 15hh , 4yrs and stunning. She's been putting him to her own connie mares and has had some stunning foals this year, but he may be coming to me to do a bit with/ get a record but to jump him we need his breeding.

Can anyone help!!!

Try these guys......if they don't hold the number themselves they may be able to tell you who does.
But you will need a fluent spanish speaker!

Registro Andaluz de Identificacion
PetTrack (avid in Spain)
Verichip

Google should bring up contact details.
But just because he is chipped doesn't mean his breeding is likely to be held on record.

Thanks, will get on to them today. Would just love to se if we can find out a bit more about him, breeder even, as then we can get him DNA tested.

Have emailed all the people you have said Joeanne, lucky I have a spanish vet who is obv. fluent and can prob access the databases legally!
Any other ideas?

Hi I used to work at a vets in Spain. They didn't deal with horses, but I have an email address for my horse's last vet over there too. If you want, I can email them and see if they can help. The problem you might have though, is that each Province works independently and will possibly not be able to trace a chip from another province...madness! PM me if you like though and I will see what I can do (I also speak fluent Spanish which helps :) )

I replied on your other post in breeding where someone had said 9410 was not a Spanish microchip - have pasted my reply here:

It could be a Spanish microchip - I have one starting 9810, these microchips are issued by ANNCE, the governing body for PREs, however, they would not have issued him with one unless he was a purebred PRE or a Hispano.

I may be worth contacting Mary McBryde at BAPSH, her contact details are on the website www.bapsh.co.uk

My mare has a 941000.... etc microchip and I can trace her back to RAIA - Registro Andaluz de Identificación Animal, Andalucia, Spain. Try using this site too http://www.europetnet.com/Home.aspx, enter the chip number, if no results come up you can send the chip details to them and they can look into it for you. Worth a try.

Any help or emails to anyone would be amazing! Esp. from fluent spanish speakers! I am thinking that Hispano would make a lot of sense! He's stunning, about 15hh and just not enough too him to be pure PRE, but could def. see the arab in him. Becca-84 any help would be great.

Thanks!
