Help! Supreme Overload

I am preparing to go to the RDS for the first time, and I want my grey mare looking as fab as possible. I was told to check out Supreme products, and I've found several that I think might help get her dazzling in the show ring. But its working out expensive so can anyone tell me which products are more worth it that others please?
She's almost white, with dark muzzle, and a bit of black around knees and hocks. Still trying to get the last traces of yellow out of tail (too scared to try anything very strong).

Easy Plait (not exactly sure what this does)
De Luxe Coat Gloss
Spray and Shine (they recommend the gloss and this together, but is that overkill?)
Cover Magic White
Hoof Paint Black
Make Up Black (never used this before, is it worth getting for her dark bits?)
Leg and Body Whitener
Blue Shampoo
Blue Tint (mixing this exactly right with the water makes me nervous)
Sparkle
Glistening Oil (is this just glorified baby oil?)

So which are essential, and which could I not bother with?

Ok, here is what I think ;)

Easy plait -not worth getting as you can wet the mane down when plaiting and just use hair spray to keep them in shape :)

Coat gloss - not worth getting as you could just hot rag at dublin - need very hot water and lavender oil and just run it over the horse :)

Definately get the hoof paint - in black, makes the white look stunning!

The whitener is good but gold label do an excellent version which you put on after washing making it into a paste :)

Blue shampoo is excellent

Fairy liquid is great for getting yellow out of tails ;)

As for the glistening oil - the aloe vera baby oil is much better :D
 
Don't bother with the hoof paint....its awfull stuff, wipes off in the grass before you get to the ring, and seeps up into the white on the legs
 
See, the hoof paint I think is the best - You MUST apply it the morning before you leave for the show, so it has time to dry, and then reapply it when you get to the show.

Ive never had a problem with it - you apply it around the coronet band and down - and make sure that it is dry before moving ;)
 
there chalky white powder ,sorry can't remember the exact name of it.

i love it and can't live without it on my colored horses white legs
i mix it with water to then sponge down legs after washing the night before
then i bandage over the top of very long gammgee

they always dry really white and don't leave a cloud of dust behind you in the ring

i also leave the used sponge handy for the morning to wipe over any stains picked up through the night

i use a clean wet sponge to wipe any off that has got onto his dark bits and it comes off really easily

a bit of hoof oil gets rid of it off his feet

wish i had it years ago ,i used to have to wash my old mares legs 3-4 times to get them clean, with this i just wash his once and chuck it on then good to go in morning :)
 
Thanks guys. I have been using fairy liquid on her tail, but its not quite cutting the mustard. Anyone used the black make-up?
I've also found that baby oil catches any bit of dirt in the air and makes it stick to the coat, as does my fly repellant. Very frustrating!

I'll definitely get the whitener, and thanks for the hoof paint advise, will defo do that!!

Yeah, i use black hoof polish on a grey with no probs - but I don't like Supreme's, its too runny. Try to get the Absorbine one. A good tip if you have to apply it on grass or on someone's smart yard is to use a small car mat for her to stand on.

Supreme do a fantastic whitener that is tiny blue crystals in a little pot - you put literally a quarter of a teaspoon in a jug of cold water and use it as a final rinse for the most silvery tail and legs possible! I couldn't live without it and it defo gets yellow out - most of our show venues have horrid yellow sand and I to use it throughout the show to keep madam respectable!

Make sure you get a blue shampoo - I've tried NAF's wash and show which sounds good but just doesn't get the stains out.

Personally I like quick plait type products - we use Quick Braid which KM elite sell online for banding manes which is the most tedious job on the planet!

I also like proper horse make up better than baby oil - it's one less thing to spill on me!

Lots of luck - greys are a pain but get lots of compliments when they look good!

Great thanks, I'll have a look at those crystals. I just hope I don't mix in too much and dye her another colour! ;-)

Has anyone used black make-up? Is it good or should I steer well clear?

Don't worry about the blue stuff - as long as you dilute it as suggested you won't get a blue horse.

I prefer clear make up - madam has a dark muzzle and it comes up even darker when glossed.
Some friends used to black their grey's legs as he was going lighter - it looked very artificial and I'd be terrified about it coming off everywhere, although I am very messy!
 
With the fairy liquid to get the tail white. Lather it in thick and leave it in for 30 mins. Works a treat!
 
The best stuff I've ever used for grey horses is the Lynn Russell super stain remover. It looks a bit like meths, but I've never used anything as good - the only thing that lifts the greasy grime off the surface of the gallops from the racehorses legs, and if you spray it into the tail and leave it for 15 minutes it will leave it snow white! It'll also turn your hands a shade paler if you're not careful - ideal for those fake tan disasters...
 
Sheep face white!!! like chalk, also blue shampoo for cows, and blue bags (or blue rinse using for sheets and stuff), put it in bucket of water and use as a final rinse.
Gold label black hoof paint is good, lynn russel quick plait spray is best.
