Hi Guys,

I am hoping your vast amount of knowledge may shed some light!
Went out to do the horses this morning and my lovely man Osc has lumps under his chin and either side of his cheeks!! I can't see any cuts and checked in his mouth - can't see anything. Will have another look later when OH can hold the torch for me. He is wanting more cuddles than normal however is eating hard food (carrots), soft food and hay with no problems!! Any ideas, I was wondering if he has perhaps been bitten? Or app there is something called grass glands?!

I would say that is a reaction to something.
Anything different in his field? Possible mould spores in his hay?
It could be just about anything, but I would get the vet to have a look as any swelling in the face is potentially serious.

Grass gland swelling tends to be higher up, more like where the jaw bone joins the neck, also would be unusual for this time of year when the grass isn't very rich.

Other than that I can't help you i"m afraid! Good luck :)

Thanks, I did put out some older hay yesterday that wasn't amazing so mould spores could potentially be a cause! Nothing has changed in the field other than that, though they do rotate between the farm and house fields to alleviate poaching.

I will give him some antihistamine and keep monitoring. If it gets any worse I'll have the vet straight out anyway.
Thanks for your help guys, much appreciated
