Title says it all, really.

The cockatiel has had a nosebleed in the night from both sides. He seems to be getting on okay with both of his friends, so don't think they've been fighting. None of the others seem hurt.

It has stopped & he seems perfectly cheerful but I don't know what, if anything, I should do??? Maybe I should try to wash his face, but he's not tame & he would prob have my hand off... Couldn't find anything by googling.

Don't want any more pets dying cos it will look as if I'm a very bad mummy!!!

They don't open again til 2.

Poor little thing, but I don't think there's a lot people know / can do about birdies. At least I'm unlikely to end up with a £5k bill.

Thanks for that.

I was wondering if he'd got a brain tumour or something, so it's a relief that all I need to do is pick out some of the sunflower seeds from his food mix.

Bleeding has stopped, there is no fresh blood & he's fine in himself so hopefully the crisis is over.

I used to breed birds, its caused by too much sunflower. If its stopped bleeding don't worry about it.

Interesting. My cockatiel leaves most of her sunflower seeds anyway, but why would it cause bleeding please?
