Help peeps!

Dilema - I have a Clydesdale that I intend to do ridden showing on. I have a dressage saddle ONLY and will not be buying another unless it ever doesn't fit). What do I do about the girth?!?!

Some sort of sleeve to cover the buckles?
Long girth bit then the straps are long and flappy?
Long girth with big place to tuck away straps?

Something else I haven't thought of?

Use a short girth, you will probably not be the only one in a dressage saddle and in the overall scheme of things it is really not an issue, I think most judges, if you have a ride judge, are used to riding in them now so as long as it fits I would just go out and enjoy the shows.

I always use ‘long’ short girth’s on dressage saddles anyway. I’d go as long as you can get away with and just tuck the straps away neatly, either using keepers or tucking into a pouch

Same as what ihatework says seen loads of people compete in them, or you could change the girth straps like I did on my brown dressage saddle it just looks like a showing saddle now.
