Is there anyone on here that could help me trace a Danish Microchip ?

Have a mare that was rescued in the summer, we thought she was Irish as this is what her passport says....

Vet scanned her for us the other day and found a microchip that I now understand to have originated in Denmark.

Any help would be very gratefullt received.

They speak danish in Denmark. Or has your horse got a Dutch microchip?

[/ QUOTE ]

The person you should actually speak to is Lars Anthony at Dansk Varmblod (but he actually runs all the studbooks) who will know where all the Danish chips come from. He speaks very good English and his number is 00 45 87 475400.

Sorry miss typed on my part ! I meant Danish.

Thanks to Firm I have been in touch with someone in Denmark who has now confirmed that the chip actually originated in Holland.

Thank you to everyone else who has replied.

The search continues.

This is a dutch site where you can put microchip number in to see where they originate from.
Chip identifier
You might be lucky and find your there.

You beat me to it!! I was just about to add the link too!

Hopefully that website will be able to tell you what studbook the horse is registered with and what its registration number is - then all you need to do is give the studbook a ring and they'll tell you how to get replacement papers.

Good luck!

This is off the site :

K93.11604 Koninklijke Vereniging Warmbloed Paardenstamboek Nederland

1.93.11604 Koninklijke Nederlandse Hippische Sportfederatie

Werkwijze:

If anyone can translate for me that would be great.

"Type a chip number in and click on the button "zoeken".
If the chip number is found you will see the associated life number and the name of the passport issuing agency where the horse is registered. By clicking on the name of the passport issuing agency, you get to see further information about this. If the passport issuing agency has an Internet site this stands right of the field " Website" if you click on this internet address you go there. If the passport issuing agency on its own Internet site, which has further information on the horse, you can for that purpose directly to, by clicking if on the chip number (of application: to the right of the field " Information on paard"). If the passport issuing agency does not have this possibility, you must get in touch for more information on the horse with this agency."

I've babelfished most of it but hopefully you get the gist...

Basically, it looks like your horse is a papered Dutch Warmblood, registered with the KWPN. The studbook registration number (also called life number) is 93.11604.

If you ring the KWPN on 0031 341 255555 and explain what has happened, they will tell you how to apply for a replacement copy of her registration paper (and a KWPN passport, if one had already been issued for her).

Thank you for all your messages and help...

Thought I would reply here rather than PM everyone seperately..

With the help of people here and on another forum I have found out that she is a registered Dutch Warmblood by Ekstein out of a mare called Irus - Im told this is good but as warmbloods are not my thing I need to investigate further.

Going to work on getting her correct papers issued and dong a family tree for her. Then will decide what to do with her as she is much older than we thought 15 - so may try and find a nice broodmare home for her. If her bloodlines are good then this may be best thing for her ?

Great news that you managed to trace her.

Ekstein died earlier this year but he stood at Morningside Stud and his stud card is still on the website:

Ekstein Studcard

Good luck with her, whatever you decide to do.
