Hello, so I have sold my horse subject to a 2 stage vetting, which is happening tomorrow afternoon and I'm now convinced he is going to fail :mad:

I had him vetted myself last April and he was fine, although I wasn't present at the time.

What exactly does it involve, and what might he fail on??

Please help, I'm going mad with nerves!

Isn't two stage really a check of heart and lungs at rest and anything glaringly obvious like teeth and eyes and then a simple lameness check (run up in hand)

I don't suppose you have too much to worry about :)

There should be no problem if he was sound last year unless something has happened since.
They usually do a check all over, look at teeth, do eyes, listen to heart, then walk and trot in hand, most vets I have dealt with also do flexion tests as well but they may not, check of feet usually with hoof testers.
Many will also ask a list of questions for record covering things like allergies, vices, whether they are in work regularly etc this seems to have become standard practise in my area and is a really good idea as it often covers things the buyers forget to ask, this has to be signed by you.
Dont forget to have his passport with you.
