Hi,

I would love to give hunting a go, Vale of Aylesbury would be our local hunt, was just wondering a few things before I gave the secretary a call. If my horse is used to doing ODE, hunter trials, sponsored rides and show jumping (local level), whether he would be fit enough to come out hunting and if he would cope with the day.
I guess I'm just being a little bit aprehensive and need re assurance as I'm not sure what to expect.
Does anyone hunt with Vale of Aylesbury, whats the going usually like?

Hiya! I hunt with VAGSB :) Give Miles a ring or email and he will fill you in on details.

I am sure your horse is fit enough for autumn hound exercise which normally starts in about a fortnight. The opening meet isnt until November so plenty of time to bring his fitness up. We are a friendly bunch- bring a full hipflask, green tail ribbon and a smile and you will fit right in ;-) The going varies from dry woodland to deep plough- depends on which meets you go to. PM me the meets you are interested in and i will tell you the going, if i am there then i am always happy to "nanny" a newbie :) There are always nonjumpers who know the way around so you dont have to do anything scarey!
