To cut a long story short my dog was recently spayed but had complications and should not have been sent home when she was. This resulted in emergencey surgery costing £2,000 that could have been avoided (IMHO).

I want to complain but I don't know who to??

The practice who did they spay are a small chain (Vetsavers) and I cannot find any details for a head office / managing director / customer service contact ??
I can't see the point in approching the particular branch in question as I'm sure the complaint will end up in the bin!

So, do I complain to the RCVS ?? Or someone else ??

Would appriciate any advice please.

** also inn dogs but more of you come on here **

Question is, are you after the money back on the extra treatment, or getting the vet looked at by the overseeing body, or both?

If the money, then you need to tell them thats what you want, in writing, with a timescale for them to comply. If they dont comply, take it to small claims.

If the complaint re competence, then go to RVCS

If both, do both.

Personally, I think both courses of action would be entirely reasonable, esp as it is a common operation so not exactly some cutting edge thing, and its something that others pets are likely to be having done by them....

Martlin I take it back . . . . just called your contact number again and spoke to someone much more helpful this time and now have the area managers details.

Many thanks :-)
